Coronation Street’s worrying Sam Blakeman scene hints at bigger story ahead
Coronation Street spoilers follow, while this article contains discussion of subject matter such as grooming and mental health.
Coronation Street aired a worrying scene involving Sam Blakeman, who has recently been struggling with his mental health following his part in exposing Megan Walsh’s crimes against Will Driscoll.
Sam has had a hard time after finding out that the athletics coach had been grooming her student, Will. As Megan started bullying Sam to make sure he’d stay silent, the teen experienced severe anxiety attacks and resorted to ADHD medication sold by a schoolmate.

Megan’s grooming has since been exposed, with the coach continuing to lie and deny any inappropriate – and illegal – involvement with Will despite the mounting evidence that proves otherwise.
In tonight’s episode, Eva Price, Leanne and Toyah dragged Megan into Leanne’s flat to extort a confession. Once again, Megan covered her tracks, telling Eva she had only been trying to annoy her when she made explicit references about having sex with Will.
She then proceeded to try and get a reaction from the trio, namely by cruelly referencing Toyah’s part in the death of her late husband, Imran. The Viaduct Bistro owner saw red, and slapped Megan so hard that her nose started bleeding.

A smug, albeit bruised, Megan finally had something she could use against Eva and her pals and didn’t take very long to retaliate. She sent the police over to the Rovers to arrest the group, and appeared gleeful.
At the Bistro, meanwhile, Toyah had a chat with Sam after the teen revealed that he had seen them taking Megan into Leanne’s. When Sam shared his concerns and asked Toyah whether they’d killed Megan, she lied and said the coach was just picking up some clothes.

Toyah then made a hurtful comment to deflect from Sam’s accusations, suggesting that he should get “[his] prescription checked”, before carelessly adding that his “imagination” would get him “in trouble”.
An emotional Sam broke down in tears, and called himself an “idiot” who gets “everything wrong”. Sam worryingly stormed out as Toyah called after him, with his mental state clearly worsening following the latest remark.
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
