Coronation Street’s Jodie stoops to shocking new low in early ITVX episode
Coronation Street spoilers follow from Wednesday’s episode (29 April), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet. The following article contains discussion of sexual misconduct that some readers may find upsetting.
Coronation Street’s Jodie Ramsey crosses another line tonight as she cruelly taunts David Platt about his traumatic past.
As the two characters clash over Jodie’s latest scheme, Weatherfield’s new master manipulator gets personal by bringing up David’s ordeal with Josh Tucker.
Wednesday’s episode sees Jodie try to set up David in a cheating scandal as she climbs into his marital bed, wanting him to believe that she’s Shona. It’s Jodie’s most outrageous move yet to destroy her sister’s marriage.

Arriving home drunk after Carla and Lisa Connor-Swain’s wedding, David quickly falls for the ruse. As Jodie lies with her back to him, David compliments and kisses her – only to be horrified when he realises who she is.
Later, in full view of David’s sister Sarah, the pair argue over who was to blame.
Jodie makes up a bogus reason why she was in the bed and accuses David of being unfaithful to her sibling.
Fortunately, David is wise to her games and threatens to tell Shona the real story.

“I know about the stuff that happened with your mate,” Jodie replies. “Josh, was it? You know, your ‘friend’. It just goes to show that things can get twisted.
“Oh David, when are you just going to stop playing the victim?”
Jodie is referring to one of Coronation Street’s darkest storylines – David was raped by Josh in 2018 after they’d been on a night out together. After David broke his silence over what had happened, he was supported by his family.

Confiding in Sarah tonight, David reaffirms: “I didn’t lie about Josh. I certainly didn’t play the victim either.
“Jodie could say anything – she could be with [Shona] now, spinning a load of lies. I mean, saying I made it up. It makes me feel sick, you know. She’s evil – I hate her.”
Does this give David a potential motive for murder if Jodie is killed off this week? Corrie bosses have put Jodie on the ‘fatal five’ list of characters who could be dead by the end of the week – alongside Carl Webster, Maggie Driscoll, Megan Walsh and Theo Silverton – so anything is possible…
