Coronation Street’s Jodie ruins Bethany’s plan – with another destructive move
Coronation Street Soap Scoop! Steve’s sad death news
Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street‘s Jodie Ramsey upped the ante again tonight in a bid to further the rift between David and Shona Platt. When their niece Bethany suggested a cosy night in for the couple, Jodie made it her mission to ruin their plans.
In tonight’s episode, exhausted Shona returned from the hospital, where she had spent all night watching over her newborn daughter Harper. When she walked into the house, she was frustrated to see an empty milk bottle and dishes all over the worktops.
Unbeknownst to her, scheming Jodie had just spilled all the milk down the sink and emptied the dishwater to make it look like David hadn’t done his chores.
David then rushed down the stairs admitting he had overslept and was late for work. Unimpressed Shona berated him for having a “lie-in” and not asking how Harper was doing.

In the café, a downbeat Shona told Bethany that she and David barely get to see each other lately, ahead of Harper’s upcoming surgery. She admitted that she slightly “resented” him for being able to rest while she rushed around at the hospital.
Bethany suggested they spend some “quality time” together at home and volunteered a reluctant Jodie to take Lily to the cinema that evening.
“Then I’ll take over from my mum [at the hospital] and you and David can have a date night,” Bethany declared to a grateful Shona.

Later, David arrived home from work to find Shona dressed up for their date. The couple shared a passionate kiss, while a jealous Jodie looked on.
Unfortunately, their romantic evening was soon interrupted when Jodie and Lily burst through the do
or, explaining that Jodie had ‘accidentally’ booked an 18+ film.
David asked why they didn’t go see something else, but Jodie claimed there was nothing showing for another hour and reminded them that Lily had an early start the next day.
“This is better than a movie anyway, innit?” she said, tucking into the couple’s dessert, satisfied that she had ruined their alone time.
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
