Coronation Street reveals huge “winner takes all” feud for Theo and Carl
Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street star James Cartwright has exclusively revealed to Inside Soap that his character, Theo Silverton, is set to be involved in some explosive scenes with fellow villain Carl Webster.
It was recently revealed that both Theo and Carl are potential murder victims in the ITV soap’s upcoming whodunnit plot, which will begin on Lisa and Carla’s wedding day.
While Carl has his own long list of enemies, including some of his own family members, it’s Theo’s horrifying abuse of Todd Grimshaw that could lead the scaffolder to death’s door.
Indeed, if Theo’s wicked ways were to become public knowledge, there would be no shortage of residents wanting to see the back of him. But who could have it in them to take Theo’s life?

“Theo’s driven through Coronation Street like a truck with three wheels, and crashed through everybody, hasn’t he?” reflects James, who joined the cobbles in March last year.
“He’s upset Carl. They’ve got a bit of a funny thing. There’s James, who is physical, he’s got motive. There’s Summer, maybe she doesn’t like what’s going on, and there’s also George.”
“Sarah is Todd’s best friend,” he continues. “And there’s Danielle, the ex-wife, maybe she comes back! Or an ex-boyfriend of Theo’s that comes back to see him off. Or maybe it is Todd with a poisoned mushroom risotto!”
Theo’s feud with Carl reached a critical point back in January, when Carl overheard Theo voicing his guilty conscience to Billy’s corpse. After that, Theo obtained images of Carl that proved he had orchestrated a robbery at the Chariot Square hotel.

Since then, the two men have exchanged venomous threats with each other, but as James tells us, the rivalry will soon reach new heights…
“It’s two villains head-to-head competing for the top spot, if you will,” he shares. “It’s like two si
lverback gorillas in the jungle. When two silverbacks fight, whoever wins, that silverback then takes all of the other silverback’s family. They take everything that they own.
“I feel it’s a bit like that with Theo and Carl. It’s a ‘winner takes all’ situation. They’re starting to dislike each other now, but that turns to real hate…”
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
