Coronation Street’s Ronnie to discover new Carl scam – as murder plot looms
Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street‘s Ronnie Bailey is set to discover a new Carl Webster scam as the upcoming murder plot looms.
Viewers know that Carl is one of five characters in the running to be killed off during Carla Connor and Lisa Swain’s wedding, which is set to air on 23 April.
The death mystery was teased earlier this month in a flashforward episode that saw Betsy Swain stumble upon a body, leaving fans to speculate about the identity of the mystery victim.
Joining Carl on the list of Weatherfield residents who were put forward as the potential victims are Jodie Ramsey, Maggie Driscoll, Megan Walsh and Theo Silverton.
After dodging responsibility for a year and letting Debbie Webster take the blame for the Corriedale crash, Carl has been on a warpath since learning Debbie is his mother.
In scenes set to air on Tuesday 3 March, a manipulative Carl visits Debbie, pulling on her heartstrings until she agrees to give him even more cash.

After overhearing their conversation, Sally issues Debbie a warning, telling her that Carl is taking her for a ride. Debbie is quick to defend her son, but deep down she knows Sally’s right.
In her cell, Debbie frets over her dysfunctional relationship with Carl as the stress begins to take its toll.
After hearing that Carl has been screwing Debbie out of more money, how will her husband, Ronnie, react?
“Ronnie is deeply concerned that Carl keeps hassling Debbie for money,” our Corrie source explains. “Debbie feels guilty for not being there for Carl over the years and wants to make up for it, but it’s clear that this situation can’t go on.
“Could Ronnie be tempted to step in and deal with Carl before things get any worse?”

Recently asked about fan predictions that his character might be killed off, Carl star Jonathan Howard told This Morning’s Sharon Marshall: “I mean, I’m just going around disrupting everyone.
“I’m stealing off my mum, I’ve already stole my brother’s wife, I’ve done a hit and run with Tyrone, I’ve got teenagers stealing cars for me. I’m not the nicest on the Street at the moment. I’ve had a really good time here. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it.”
After pointing out he was using the past tense, Howard said: “We’re going to see what happens in the future…”
