Coronation Street fans spooked as Roy’s customer is served by a ghost
Coronation Street fans have been left wondering if ghosts really do exist after a customer was served in Roy Cropper’s (David Neilson) cafe by what appears to have been an invisible assistant.
The scene in question hit screens on Monday (February 23) and saw Roy’s Rolls employees Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) and Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) getting on with their tasks.
On what proved to be a particularly quiet day – presumably after the breakfast rush – Jodie cleaned a table while Bernie was seen hanging a poster on the noticeboard.
In the background of the scene, a customer picked up her coffee from the counter and made her way to the exit.
But as the camera panned across the cafe to follow Jodie, there was no-one working behind the counter. In fact, there was no-one else on duty on the day in question, as proved when Roy sent Jodie home and Bernie was left on her lonesome, so just who was it that served the aforementioned customer?
And just when you thought that the development couldn’t get any more goosebump-inducing, Jodie – just seconds later – refers to the cafe as resembling a ‘morgue’ due to how ‘dead’ it is.
The hairs on the back of your neck standing up yet?
The unexpected brush with the supernatural was picked up on by fan podcast The Talk Of The Street, who wrote on X: ‘In tonight’s #corrie, more suggestion that ghosts exist?
‘Jodie talks about it being a morgue in the cafe, dead or what, while this ghostly customer is ignored by her and Bernie and SERVED BY NO ONE!!!’
X user @WritingNav joked that the customer’s coffee could’ve been poured by the ghost of Alma Baldwin (Amanda Barrie), who used to work in Jim’s Cafe prior to its renaming as Roy’s Rolls, which was located previously on Rosamund Street.
Fellow fan @LuvLara joked ‘Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!’, adding a GIF of the famous film.
Jodie has been the talking point among Corrie fans for numerous reasons as of late, with fans convinced that she’s up to no good – and there’s a stack of evidence now to back such theories up.

The newcomer arrived on the cobbles last month after making her debut in Corriedale and it didn’t take long before her true colours came to light.
Clearly out to sabotage sister Shona’s (Julia Goulding) marriage to David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), she has also targeted both colleague Bernie and shopkeeper Brian Packham (Peter Gunn).
What exactly her motivations – besides causing trouble, that is – remains to be seen but with a trinket box in her possession – containing items belonging to those she’s tormenting – it’s safe to say that the residents of Weatherfield had better sleep with one eye open for the foreseeable!
