There has been growing speculation about a soap episode of this nature for some time, with fans eagerly looking forward to seeing both sets of characters interact.

The last time a crossover such as this occurred was in 2010, when Eastenders and Coronation Street merged for the Children in Need special ‘East Street’.
This special episode is entitled Corriedale and represents a massive milestone in British soap history.
It serves as both a high-stakes standalone story as well as an innovative way of propelling the stories currently taking place in the respective soaps.
When is Corriedale on?
The hour-long special is officially scheduled to air on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 8:00 PM on ITV1.
It marks the beginning of a permanent schedule shift where both soaps will now air back-to-back every weeknight.
Viewers can also stream the episode live or on-demand via the ITVX platform immediately after the broadcast.
The event is designed to celebrate the legacy of both shows while launching a new era for ITV’s evening drama block.
