Emmerdale’s poignant Christmas moment to unite Jimmy and Claudette
Emmerdale spoilers follow for the Christmas Day episode, which will be available early on streaming ahead of broadcast.
While Christmas Day is often about celebration and joy, it’s also about taking stock and remembering those who aren’t with us any more. And that’s what Emmerdale will be doing tomorrow, in a very poignant scene.
Scenes that will air on 25 December will see Claudette Anderson and Jimmy King separately attend the village churchyard, and bump into each other.
They console each other over losing people and how those losses have impacted Christmases past, with the pair forming an unlikely bond.
Claudette has suffered two recent tragedies, as her husband Victor died in 2023, and her grandson Ethan passed away last year.
Jimmy has lost three brothers — Matthew, Carl, and Max — and his father Tom.

Claudette isn’t the only person who lost someone last year and will be struggling this Christmas, although in the case of one Kim Tate, it’s partly because she’s pushed everyone away.
“Christmas can be a difficult time for those who have lost loved ones, so the festive episode gives a nod to this as Claudette and Jimmy bond,” our Emmerdale source explains.
“It’s also sure to be a difficult time for Kim, as it’s exactly one year since she lost her husband Will.”

There’s been rumours that this Christmas will be Kim’s last, but Claire King has teased that you shouldn’t be so sure of that.
“I have read things like ‘Kim’s fate is doomed’, but I certainly haven’t read that in the scripts,” she said.
“It’s why I don’t ever read anything on social media.”
